Timeline
Fall 2018 and Spring 2019
We will begin to compile resources for our literature review and eventually we will write a formal thesis proposal which we will present in the spring. We will simultaneously begin collecting data and narrowing our research.
Fall 2019 and Spring 2020
We will continue working on our literature review and we'll begin preparing our thesis outline and preliminary findings for the junior colloquia and undergraduate research day. In the lab, we will finish most of the data collection.
We will finalize our thesis and literature review in order to present at the senior thesis conference. To prepare, we will work on data analysis with our mentors and collaborate with other experts in the field, some of which we'll invite to the senior thesis conference.
Fall 2020 and Spring 2021
We have secured funding for Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 through NASA's X-Hab Challenge and will be applying again in Spring 2019. We will also be applying for grants from Maryland Space Grant Consortium and the A. James Clark School of Engineering Minta Martin Endowment in case we exceed our allowance from NASA's X-Hab Challenge.
